“An ounce of Prevention is worth a pound of cure.” -Benjamin Franklin
This quote does not ring more true anywhere than it does in dentistry. Prevention of gum disease, cavities, and other oral health issues is far better, far less expensive, and far easier than treatment of these issues. Regular dental cleanings can help prevent gum disease before it starts. Sealants on children help to seal cavity-prone areas from the germs and bacteria that cause tooth decay. Regular exams and x-rays help ensure that any problems are identified and treated quickly before larger, more painful situations can arise. Our office offers all of the following preventative care treatments.
- Cleanings/Hygiene
- Dental Sealants
- Regular Checkups
- Patient Education
- Nightguards
- Mouthguards
At your regularly scheduled continuing care visit the following conditions will be checked for
- Cavities: we will check for cracked or decayed teeth and propose a treatment plan to fix them
- Oral Cancer: early detection and treatment is very important. We will check all of your oral tissues for any signs of cancer or other abnormalities
- Gum disease: The tissues holding in your teeth are just as important as the teeth they support. We will ensure that your gums are healthy enough to maintain your teeth
- Breakdown of existing dental work: We will check all old fillings and crowns for signs of wear, cracking, leakage, or any other problems that could cause them to need maintenance work or to be replaced
