Are you anxious about dental visits?
It is perfectly normal to feel anxious or apprehensive about a visit to the dentist. After one or two visits, most of our patients find that their fears were worse than the reality. However, for those patients who are still nervous we do offer nitrous oxide gas. Nitrous oxide, sometimes called “laughing gas” has an anti-anxiety effect on patients. Nitrous oxide also has an analgesic effect in addition to being an anxiolytic. It helps to calm and sooth you so that your dental experience is as pleasant as possible. It is safe, and tolerated well by most people. As it is an inhalant, after the gas is turned off, it quickly leaves your system making it safe for you to drive home after just a few minutes.
